How Important Is It To You To Backup Files?

You never know what you got until its gone! That is mostly the case with important computer files. You have a lot of stuff on your computer that you have saved over the years that you never really pay attention to. Then one day the unexpected happens and its all gone.

This can happen for a variety of reasons

1. You catch a computer virus

2. Your computer crashes

3. Someone steals your computer

4. House fires

5. You leave your laptop! (The Worse)

When this happens to us it is not losing the computer that really hurts us, it is losing all of that data.

1. Important work

2. Family pictures & videos

3. Countless music downloads

4. Your favorite bookmarks

The list can go on and on. I have went through the heartache of losing a computer with all my important work and trust me it does not feel good.

This is why I make it a habit to backup files on my computer every chance I get.

There are two ways you can backup files on your computer.

1. You can add your data to an external hard drive

2. You can use online backup or cloud storage ( recommended)

Online backup is a very useful tool in this day and age. The concept is brilliant with cloud storage you actually store all your information on a secure server and then you have the ability to access those files from any computer in the world.

As I said earlier this is a new day and age and we are all busy or all on the run. Using online storage can become very convenient for you. You do not have to worry about bringing your computer along or keep up with the small external device. It makes you a lot more mobile if you like to stay in front of a computer like I do.
There are plenty of companies that offer online storage to backup files for you. The big question about these companies is the reliability of service and how long have they been around, an oh yeah the price to.

The importance of backup your computer files can never be underestimated. It is not a question of if but when!
