Things to Know Before Building Your Home Theatre

So you have decided to invest in your own home theatre to go in that extra space you are not using. Well, before embarking on this big project, you need to make sure whether or not this is a project you can tackle on your own or not. Some things you will be able to handle on your own but in other aspects you need to be able to know when to ask for help. Here are a few things to know before starting on this project and getting stuck.
Room Space
First things first, decide on the room that the home theatre is going to go in. Make sure that in the room you select that you have ample space especially if you are planning on putting a projector up. If you are going to be using a projector in this room, you are going to want at least 15 feet in between the projector and the wall. This is to ensure the utmost clarity in the screen. Putting the projector too close to the wall will result in a blurry screen that nobody will enjoy watching.
Wiring Installation
The next thing to know is that installation of the wiring is not a breeze. You need to decide if you are capable or not of routing the entire thing together or not. There are two types of problems with installation.
If you are going to get a surround sound system and wire it through the walls, you may want to consult someone to com do it for you unless you are an electrician. Digging into the walls can be risky and sometimes it may be right to contact the professionals. You don't want the wife coming home and seeing three holes in the wall where you tried to install a television or speakers.
Next, you don't want to risk losing out on the quality of sound because you didn't set up the wires correctly. The worst thing that can happen with all these wires is either little to no sound or even worse, sound that isn't synced. If the sound isn't synced, this means you will see mouths moving before you hear the words they are actually saying. This can make for extremely confusing television or movies.
Home theatre installation does have some things you can save money on and do yourself but be sure to know your limits before you start opening up the walls yourself. Good luck and let us know any other things you think it is good to know before getting to work.
